September: BarCamp and RailsConf

September will be a great month when it comes to meetings and conferences! The second edition of BarCamp Portugal is set to be on 1-2 in Coimbra and is being organized and hosted by the whole team @ WBS. In September 17-19 we’re also attending to RailsConf Europe in Berlin.

Organizing and hosting BarCamp is a highly gratifying experience. Being free and ad-hoc it is a nice opportunity to gather the good minds we have in Portugal working on the same (or near) areas as we do. I’m sure this will turn into a great event!
BTW, some “link-love” to our sponsor: Waveweb, owner of Gimmestock and Job board. They are buying all the attendees’ dinner!

For the RailsConf days we’re gonna stay at the Helter Skelter Hostel and I will be attending the “Refactoring” and “FLEX and Rails” workshops and I bet everything will be awesome!

Published using TextMate’s blogging bundle, I hope this works :)
In case of success, I’m thanking Matt Holland for his post.

Netnewswire, Newsgator and Clippings

A few days ago I’ve come across this neat feature that allows you to mark blogposts like you probably used to do before by “flagging” them.

Clippings differ from Flagged Items because of the sharing capabilities that you’ll get from them. If you happen to use Newsgator and sync it with your NetNewsWire, the Clippings smart folder will be also synched and you’ll be able to share items on it.

To share your Clippings, go to your Newsgator account, right click the “Clippings” folder and select “Share Web Page / RSS”. Then, you’ll be shown the addresses of your Clippings’ Web page and RSS feed.

I use delicious for very specific things that I want to easily find in the future so Clippings may be useful to save blogposts that I won’t be posting to my delicious account.

Here are the links of my Clippings folder: Web Page and RSS Feed.
